A Masseria Palmo is on an estate of 250 acres the accommodation offered is in the residential quarters within the walled courtyard. The guests can relax in total tranquilly. Enjoy the rustic charm and architecture of the Salento region perfectly maintained and displayed at Masseria Palmo. Guests can use the ample seating provided in the courtyard, terraces, verandas, garden and pool area.
The Masseria is a family run organic working farm, in the autumn/winter months they harvest their olives, grapes, fruit and vegetables to produce a comprehensive selection of jarred and pickled preserves as well as their wine and their certified organic extra virgin olive oil. These products are sold to selective European outlets in addition to the Masseria guests who can sample the products in the restaurant and/or arrange a private tasting.


- Local Information -


Francavilla Fontana is of Messapian origin situated on the site of ancient Rudiae. The town boasts several interesting buildings and churches of the Baroque period, one of which is the Cathedral built in 1743 over the remains of an Angevin church. There are also excellent examples of seventeenth & eighteenth century buildings in Via Roma.
The Castle known as the "Palazzo Imperiale" initiated in 1450 by Giovanni Antonio Orsini and completed in the early 1700s by the Imperiali family is worth a visit.
Ostuni (24Km) known as "La Citta Bianca" the white city also of Messapian origins stretches over three hilltops. The whitewashed houses and narrow lanes of "La Terra" the old quarters in the "Centro Storico" are known all over the world for its original architecture. Ostuni is a main tourist destination there are many bars, restaurant, ice cream parlours and souvenir shops.
The festival week of Ostuni is at the end of August.


- The Accommodation -

There are eight individual rooms furnished to a high standard all with separate entrance doors, modern en-suite shower rooms, air conditioning, fridge, digital TV, hair-dryer and outside seating.
The Primitivo, Malvasia & Negroamaro rooms are very spacious with a four poster king size bed a single sofa bed and if required a further single bed or a cot can be added. These rooms are accessed from the courtyard have an exterior table, sun brolly & chairs. Each room can sleep 2, 3 or 4.
The "Camera Gialla" & "Camera Blu" are spacious with a king size bed and a single sofa bed. These rooms are accessed from the gated garden/citrus grove. The covered veranda outside the rooms with table & chairs provides the perfect spot to relax in and overlook the olive grove. Each room can sleep 2 or 3.
The "Camera Rossa" is a spacious room with double sofa bed and is also accessed from the gated garden/citrus grove. The covered veranda outside the room with table & chairs provides the perfect spot to relax in and overlook the olive grove. The room can sleep 2, 3 or 4. The Rosmarino & Limone rooms are accessed through a central lounge and would suite a family or friends. Both bedrooms have en-suite facilities. These rooms are accessed from the courtyard have an exterior table, sun brolly & chairs. Each room can sleep 2.
All rooms are large enough to accommodate a cot if required.

- To The Outside -

There is a swimming pool for the exclusive use of the Masseria guests during the summer months.
It is normal practice for B&B Guests to vacate the accommodation after breakfast, this is not the case at Masseria Palmo. Guests are more than welcome to spend the day or part of their day to relax soak up the sun and the atmosphere.
During the autumn and winter months the guests can participate in the olive & grape harvests. See how the organic olive oil is made in the traditional way with the granite press.

- Getting To Masseria Palmo –

Brindisi Airport is the nearest to Masseria Palmo (approximately 35km) many guests also use Bari as it is only 130km away.
Ryan Air offers direct flights from London Stanstead to Brindisi & Bari.
British Airways has direct flights from London Gatwick to Bari.
Alitalia has flights from London Heathrow to Brindisi but with a change at either Milan or Rome.
A car is essential for touring and getting to the local amenities. There are many of the major car rental companies at the airports such as Avis, Hetrz, Europcar, National & Sixth.
Masseria Palmo is four kilometers from Francavilla Fontana travelling towards Ostuni. Specific directions will be provided when the booking is confirmed.


- Rates -

95 to 110 Euros per night per room
Three guests can be accommodated for €130 per night.
Four guests can be accommodated for €170 per night.

NB: Prices may be subject to change at the owner's discretion.
The prices are per room based on 2 sharing to include continental breakfast in the restaurant.
Please enquire for discounted rate for a seven night stay or more.
If two or more rooms are booked there is additional discount. Please enquire.
30% required to secure the booking, the remaining balance is due six weeks prior to the holiday.

Children are welcome but parents must supervise and take responsibility for them at all times.
Meals in "The Palmo" restaurant and drinks from mini bar are to be paid for separately.
